This being the only album put out by them, and on good ol' sadly defunct Slap-A-Ham Records (Dodge's label) you'd think that you might know what the music would sound like. It's powerviolence with just a bass, drums and sometimes keyboards. There are also some very weird instrumental tracks as well. Chris Dodge's wife sings on this, with some drummer from some pretty popular powerviolence band. His wife hated powerviolence, but still sang on this release.

Unfortunately, Poland always was a stronghold of NSBM, clericalism and ultra-conservatism, so you haven't expected any anti-religious and anarchist crust / black metal band to come from Poland, especially in the very beginning of 2000s. Over the years, they traveled the states, played shows with a lot of great bands, released a record on Eyeball, and shared a member with THE CASUALTIES. The band is best described as having a 70s punk sound with a harder New York edge. This is their first full length LP, and it showcases their talent as a band with lyrics about powerful political issues. A great punk album, fans of casualties and similar bands will love The Krays.

Last Match was from Sweden and they released a fantastic 7" as well as a split 7" with Switchblade. They were heavily influenced by Born Against and their sound was powerful, aggressive, and memorable with great lyrics and vocals. This discography LP includes all of their released tracks as well as fifteen unreleased tracks, and it comes with a great looking booklet that includes lyrics and art from this awesome hardcore outfit. TRIBE 8 - Snarkism (Alternative Tentacles) 600.00 Php.
Tribe 8 was an all-women outspoken dyke punk band from San Francisco, California. Considered one of the first queercore groups,[1] they take their name from the practice of tribadism. In concert, lead singer Breedlove frequently performed shirtless, wearing a strap-on dildo, and encouraged audience members to interact with it. Their songs often deal with subjects such as S/M, nudity, fellatio, and transgender issues, and the band was the subject of controversy because of this. Their second album “Snarkism” is chock full of snide comments and sarcasm, liberally sprinkled with ska, funk, pop, punk and outright trash, with bits of sax and violin.

Another fast thrashing hardcore record from Wisconsin's U.S.V.; you might remember the thrasher they did on Havoc Records. The music is fast and furious but all the weird movie sound bites add a sense of comedy to the approach, but the U.S.V. lyrical content is quite good (even a song telling people to read the god damn lyric sheets!). This is a good record, and I would say anyone that likes D.S.13 or Code 13 is going to like this as well (not that U.S.V. sounds like either of these bands, but the same people that dig those bands will dig U.S.V.). Thrash on!

LA ESCENA (Disco De Hoy / Southkore ) 400.00 Php
La Escena is a documentary of the history of the Puerto Rican punk scene released in 2007.The story of “la escena,” which is what they refer to punk as in P.R., is told through various people from different facets who have been around for a while. The film starts off with the first wave talking about the beginnings, what it means, why they did it, sharing experiences, and why they are still around. Then they go into things like the C.P.P.R., which is a large contingent of skinheads who have national pride, but claim to not be fascist or racist. The news footage of them walking through town and the bewildered reporters is a good laugh. Then there are the effects of rock en Español, and how it affected the punk scene. As expected, no one seems thrilled with it and felt it drained a bit of the energy from “la escena” itself. The first wave eventually disintegrates from the usual apathy, drugs, and alcohol. Then they bring in some of the young, like Jose, who have learned from the mistakes of the past and intend to build something stronger. So it ends on a hopeful note. Only time will tell. The quality is great, and they keep the pace moving, never belaboring one point. So instead of renting some turd like American Hardcore, why not get this instead? Very professionally done.

Filip of SEE YOU IN HELL writes an extensive tour report of their adventures in Japan, accompanied by photos of every well known they were lucky enough to play with. This was the one for the longest running autonomous spaces in Europe, home to a thriving anarcho-punk community, and the infamous K-Town festival. The March 1st eviction sparked three days of hardcore rioting across Copenhagen and hundreds of solidarity actions still reverberating all around the world. Central to our coverage is an article about the eviction by someone heavily involved with the space for the last several years, plus official communiqués and on the ground photographs taken as the events unfolded.
